Meet STU

Father & Finn was born out of the practice of visiting the beach and collecting rocks. Stu always loved the rocks he found on the beaches on Block Island, and somehow wanted to turn them into artworks. Soon enough Stu started using Steele bags to carry those rocks during beach walks. After visiting the National Museum of the American Indian, Stu was inspired by the Pueblo pottery. He was drawn to the black-and-white designs and the simplicity, but effectiveness of lines and pattern. Stu spends much of his time on the Island sitting at the table and painting rocks and bags.

Originally from Glasgow, Stu left Scotland in 1989 to come to NYC. He was a gym teacher by profession and a creative at heart! Stuart has previously worked at Ralph Lauren, J.Crew, and Gap.
